<description><![CDATA[Everton ensured they would finish in seventh place and above Liverpool with another emphatic home win, this time over Champions League-chasing Newcastle. A lovely, deflected curler by Pienaar set them on their way, followed by a second from Jelavic who scored expertly at the second attempt after Krul had parried. The visitors rallied initially after half time but were undone when Heitinga powered a free header home off a Gibson free kick to make it three. Hibbert's own goal and a red card for Cahill for an altercation with Cabaye after the final whistle couldn't sour the day, though.]]></description>
